I find it has to do with how i smoke then what i smoke. If i'm really huffing on a pipe i would imagine the products of combustion would gather up faster than the pipe would be designed to handle and more build-up would occur. At least thats what i find when i'm cleaning mine.

I was with you on that one Tallsmoke, i thought i was witnessing a row starting up! I've seen a lot of nice pipes and when i do i ask to myself "I wonder how it smokes?" If i did have a super high-grade pipe the only thing i wouldn't do is smoke untested blends or walnut! :twisted:

Well for me i think the Bamboo looks tacky, as well as some of the new carbon-fiber coatings from Chacom(neat idea though). never was a fan of Oom Paul(hair-pin turns are too dangerous). As for the rest i am open for trying.
