    sayings and proverbs

My Dad used to say this all the time, I'm not sure if he is the author of it however: "The stronger sex, is often the weaker sex, do to the strength of the weakness of the stronger sex, for the weaker sex." Researching Scots/Irish proverbs can be lots of fun, I may post some links later...

This mornings call from the wife.

PB with any luck at all your Governor will declare the whole state a disaster area and get some 'free money' from the fed. Sounds like time to mobilize the National Guard. Damned global warming anyway ... Good Luck

How many pipes do you smoke a day/week?

I generally smoke between 5-10 bowls per day, it varies with how busy I am, I supplement this with a tin of Fresh Cope

Can't/don't smoke in your own house. Because...?

I don't see the category for "I have a mancave and restrict my smoking to it"

If PB wasn't married he'd move to OK for this one, I bet

Good for her  I know she didn't want to kill him 'graveyard dead' but I don't see that she had much choice and gave him plenty of warning ... sometimes you just live too far away from help.

    Smokin in the cold

PB does your wife come from the reverse planet Htrae? Her preferences seem the absolute reverse of every woman I've ever heard of. Usually they like the aromatics, will tolerate the VA's and can't stand Latakia :affraid: I'd be suspicious too on the cheap cigar thingy

    Smokin in the cold

I mostly smoke in my MANCAVE, the rare times I smoke outdoors in the winter, I've never really noticed that it tastes different, but it is harder to enjoy it ...

    What do you drive?

Yeah the heater core went out in my last F-150 and it's a pricey fix to have a shop do it. I just ended up driving it without heat for the last year I owned it. My new to me Ranger the heater works so well I rarely have the heat selected to above midway between cold or hot temp setting and the...

    Good day for chili

And every guy who makes chili believes HIS is the BEST  My wife's Mexican/American family all LOVE mine, though some say it's TOO HOT!!! Others grab some fresh Jalapenos to go with it!!! BTW IMHO you shouldn't every really taste the chocolate I add to mine, it just helps enhance...

    Good day for chili

It's odd to me how variable 'chili' and regional interpretations are. In Texas I think most would consider it a hanging or shooting offense to put beans (of any kind) in chili. The dish comes from Spanish/Mexican chile con carne meaning literally chiles (peppers) with meat, and is probably at...

    Tigger\'s crash

Damn, I didn't give it any more thought than perhaps a typo. I've never seen any suggestion of racism in anything I've ever read by LL anywhere on this board.

    What do you drive?

1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 that I paid way too much for because my credit is so whacked from trying to make a living in a failing economy as a tradesman. It replaced a 1994 Ford 150 with 250k miles and a transmission so shot it would no longer climb the mountains I live in without burning far...

    Tigger\'s crash

With all that is genuine and going on in the world at present, I wonder why this item is even NEWS!!! I guess people are more concerned about what happens to 'celebrities' than real life ...
