    Secret Santa 2010

Carlos, is that an FT-2000 I see behind your pile of loot? Very nice! I'm currently running an 897D, have been thinking of getting a 950, wish I could swing a 2000. I am antenna restricted here (HOA), can't really justify a really nice HF setup right yet.

    Secret Santa 2010

A Santa's helper driving a red-white-and-blue sleigh on wheels just dropped a package at the door! Whoohoo! Mrs. Hunter is going to check it for anything needing immediate attention, then under the tree it goes for Christmas morning :( . I don't mind, it will be extra fun along with...

    Secret Santa 2010

The sleigh with 8 tiny reindeer just departed Kansas with a package bound for parts north, far north in fact. Unfortunately the elves didn't get all of the toys and goodies delivered to Santa in time, so a second package will need to be sent on its way once it gets here from the workshop!

    What are your other Hobbies?

Wife says my whole life is just a hobby. Hunting and shooting, reloading, gun building, fly fishing and just trying fly tying, wood working. Photography is likely my longest running hobby from childhood, followed closely by playing guitar. Trying my hand at leather work, mostly to make some nice...

    The Price Of Tobacco

Our friends to the north can tell us about high tobacco prices! I think the tax alone in Alberta is close to $200 per lb, I am very thankful that we are still paying what we are and can get it shipped to us from our friendly e-tailers.

    Snow in Beefalo

Lived for many years across the lake in west-Toronto area. Was always grateful how the storms coming from the west would pick up moisture on either Lake Erie or Ontario and Buffalo or east of Toronto would get DUMPED ON, and we might only get a light dusting. Buffalo can get some wild winter...

    Full Virginia Flake

I guess I am lucky that neither Penzance or FVF or many of the other most popular blends are amongst my favorites. I do smoke FVF on occasion and have a couple of 1 lb boxes in the cellar. A few tins of Escudo for the times when I really want a perique bomb. Other than that my daily smokes...

    Snus

I am a regular Skoal user, it is the only nicotine that I ever find myself jonesing for. Don't like the packets, just the straight dip tucked down in the lower lip. I realize that snus is a somewhat different animal, but some of the new flavors of skoal are getting much sweeter and similar...

    This should be fun

Not sure how much "fun" it may be, conceivably it could trigger another September '08-like meltdown, which we sure are not in any position to weather at the current time.

    What are you smoking?

Last evening was McC Wilderness in a MM cob. Today too miserable and windy outside to smoke, making due with WoS Aniseed Extra up the old schnozzola!! Wilderness is growing on me. Very cool smoke, mild but lots of flavor and the va plays a significant role vs the lats.

    Thanksgiving, what you up to

Wife works retail. so she was at work by 6am on Thanksgiving Day and 3am this morning. Yesterday I got the bird stuffed and into the oven, made a pumpkin and cherry pie, cleaned the kitchen (I am a messy cook). Wife got home, we cleaned house a bit (only 1 son and his gf coming for dinner), got...

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on BoB and your families. Wife works at Sears so she has to work until at least noon (1st year they have opened on Thanksgiving). I will get the turkey in the oven sometime mid-morning and likely fritter away the rest of the day until she gets home and our...

    Dunhill Tins

Looks like some pretty good re-introductory pricing. Will be interesting to hear the reviews if these blends stand up to the old.

    Quiet day on the board

Yes, best wishes to your Mom, you and your family. It can be rough losing a loved one at this time of year, but I am sure having everyone around will be a great comfort.

Got a Question about FVF Please

Skip, opening one doesn't mean you can't age it afterwards. Open a tin and give it a try. Chunk the rest into a mason jar and seal it up, put it away for a while and try it again later. How else will you have something to compare it with? I like aged tobacco and am building up a pretty good...

    Quiet day on the board

Hey, I am GREAT. Was up early yesterday, gave a webinar for about 30 people in our company, worked in the office the rest of the day. Went to the gun store and picked up my new 1911 pistol, brought it home, field stripped it and cleaned and re-lubed it. Admired then locked it away in the safe...
