    Hello from Austin, TX

    Welcome from Dallas.

    Pipe sizes, tobacco smoking.

For quick smokes, I just load the pipe halfway or whatever. I've come to rely on my large cobs so much that I'll have to order another two. They're great for smoking in the wind, I'd definitely recommend them. My briars, which are medium-sized, just can't perform very well outside this time...

Annoying comments directed at pipe smokers

Pipes may be famous for their pleasant to inoffensive aroma, but many bars and restaurants don't allow them or cigars. Just cigarettes. What's even more messed up is that cigs are so damn expensive that floor sweeping cheapies are getting popular. Plus which they're all fire safe and hence...

How many tins or different tobacco's do you have working?

I'll post photos, but my cell phone camera won't do it justice.

How many tins or different tobacco's do you have working?

Ziplocs suck, but Mason jars don't look the greatest. I keep a few airtight jars that are like the kind fragrant womens' candles or whatever come in. Sounds sissy? Like I care. One jar, pretty nice, had specialty cashews in it. The jars are like decor almost, and they go along with my...

A little dottle never hurt anyone.

Along the lines of fluffing and tipping before those relights, should I tamp before or after relighting beyond that point? I always light and then tamp to maximize the burn. I get the feeling I've asked a stupid question, quickly snicker and forgive if that's the case.

A little dottle never hurt anyone.

Thanks, Natch, and my small pipe I mentioned does smoke more flavorfully. But only this one, a fluke maybe, but it seems pretty well seasoned. Gives my PA that bit of tanginess, though I wouldn't go out and buy more conical pipes over it.

    Old pipe smoker from Alberta

Welcome, hope you're right about the "hope" part.

    Pipe sizes, tobacco smoking.

Thanks for the education, Sasquatch. I'd read as much several years ago but had since forgotten.

A little dottle never hurt anyone.

I often find that with my usual burlies, the bottom fifth or quarter even has trouble staying lit. Otherwise I'd keep smoking, as the flavor is still good by this point. This is mostly a problem with my smaller pipe whose chamber is somewhat conical. Come to think of it, my large quarter bent...

    WOW

Personally, I was thinking of Lortab. But, I have noticed a difference with or after having Tabasco sauce, which I often use. Burley alongside or after cigarettes, real sorry, those sticks defile my palate.

PIPE PORN!!! (NOT FOR THE WEAK OF HEART)

That could make a dead smoker come.

    Theory: hydrating tobacco with whiskey

Well, I just spritzed about a dozen spritzes of Jim Beam on about two ounces of PA, having let it sit in a glass mixing bowl for twenty-something hours. It seemed dry enough, I sort of want to do this less than precisely the first time around for the sake of experimentation. I'll leave plastic...

    Just reintroducing myself.

Hey, Aaron, I'm sort of interested in sociology, a bit, but I did hate college. Anyways, happy smoking.

    Tobacco Flambé

Puzzling to me. Never had any such problem at all, but I just clicked the link for Beeline and thought "what the hell?" I always used my brass pipe Zippo, and a regular Zippo before that, no matter what some connoisseurs say.

    Classical

Hey, Whitacre is pretty good, Prof. Once you mentioned him alongside Adiago for Strings, I had to check it out. Hilary Hahn, I know of this name, is she a violinist or something? Maybe a pop singer ... whatever the hell pop is, I don't know. Wanna see something inpiring set to music? Go...

Gin, the best bang for the buck?

"Beware of the white liquor," my whiskey drinking uncle told me his whiskey drinking father used to warn. Hell, I used to just slam back McCormick gin when I was broke, tasted like hair spray and felt even worse after a while. My uncle and I are both bourbon lovers who've learned. Maybe off...

Annoying comments directed at pipe smokers

Ha ha, once after sharing aromatic burley and wine with a hot blonde, I got some free lap dances that usually go for a bit extra, her phone number, and her husband answering the phone!

    Classical

I seldom ever like to try new things when it comes to music, but I'll have to check out Whitacre on youtube. By the way, I got this CD at Half Price Books a while back of Beethoven violin sonatas. This CD has the violinist Gidon Kremer, I never heard of any violinist's name before then but...
