I gotta say, I know what you mean, I haven't smoked much since going back to work over a year ago and have only smoked twice since moving to San Jose 5 months ago! I can't smoke the good stuff as it makes my stomach ache, but I still love the pipe. I wish you the best!

I don't recall this one having much nicotine as it's mainly black cavendish. I do however remember it being sticky and feeling/smelling like it was soaked for months in cherry syrup...the taste was excellent and almost pure cherry sweetness, none of that bothersome tobacco flavor that gets in...

I actually enjoyed the blend, along with purple cow... I do miss Sailorman Jack's morning posts!

There are many many many blends not imported in the US...there are a couple websites you can order from in the UK that will ship here but you'll pay a lot more after converting to the euro :x

Yep the latakia might linger in there still. I have pipes dedicated to VAs, aromatics, English blends, and finally a pipe or two dedicated to lakeland floral blends. I have not tried frog morton, though I did try frog morton across the pond...syrian latakia is a bit softer and sweeter, I liked...

When I switched from aromatics to non...I started with sweet VA blends, then deeper VAPERs and burley blends, and it was a few years before I got into english blends...HATED latakia in the beginning and now I love the stuff...it's like crack...I want more and more...lol maybe not that bad...

I think our tinderbox just closed down :( I really enjoyed their blend called Black Russian. One of the best, and sweetest aromatics one can buy...back when that's all I smoked was the sweet stuff, I smoked it more than CAO/Dan Blue Note!

Hmmm I recall buying a tin but I can't quite remember how it was...from what I recall it's not "exactly the same" PH's is a broken flake while Orlik's was a nice two tone, almost bacon looking flake of stripes of dark and light brown.

I enjoyed both the Cherry Vanilla and the Soft Vanilla versions but did give them away to a poor piper in need

I opened an older tin of C&D, I think either bow legged bear or black frigate, it smelled like rotting garbage on a compost heap in the midday heat of summer.... :pale: Think I smoked a bowl anyways...don't remember what it tasted like but I don't remember it being bad :lol!:

I've always been reluctant to try Rattray tobacco due to the cost of 100g tins...Sure hate to buy something I didn't like an still have 100g of it...maybe with 50g tins I'll finally try them :cheers:
