Cool I have never been first in a box pass before. Was last once that was great too. Thanks PB there are some great blends in there that I have never sampled. Can't wait to try them. As much as we have made fun of walnut of the years here and at the old Knox board I am finally getting a chance to try it.

Well, Well, Well, all I can say is PB you have done excellent thing here. Only a few on that list I have been introduced to, so when it get to be my turn all I will have to do is stick my hand in and pull out something new. I am looking forward to and am very thankful for this opportunity to being exposed to what so many of fellow BoB's have written this is good try it.

A little reminder for the new guys who are in on the pass:


Unopened tins are for trading, take 1 replace 1 with a tin of similar value - if you take 4 tins you put 4 tins into the box. If you take a 100 gram tin of 5 year old vinginia flake you don't replace it with a 2 ounce bag of Lane re-branded house blend.

Do not open sealed tins and sample them.

Opened tins and bags are for sampling, take a bowl or two of what interests you and make sure the samples are well sealed when you replace them.

If the shipping box looks in bad shape when it gets to you replace it before you send it back out.

Make sure you have your safety harness and rope handy, we don't want anyone falling in and getting lost in the box, the last guy wasn't discovered for 8 days :shock:

Fuzzy slippers are now considered mandatory 8)

Thanks for the hard work and generosity with putting this pass together PB! I've never been on a box pass so I'm looking forward to sampling a good number of blends I've never had the opportunity to try. Hell I may even take a couple days off of work so I have enough time for proper samplification lol.

Just another friendly reminder..


1.Toss in some of your favorites for the other guys to sample.. in years past we've had issues with samples drying out.. Small to Medium sized amounts will work just great (besides I really don't want a box with 42 lbs of samples to arrive at my doorstep when she comes back. I'll be happy just to get a half dozen bowlfuls and 15 tins back )
2. Its ok (but not necessary) to make your swaps, pull some samples, and put the box back in the mail earlier than 6 days.
3. Smoke that Westminster.. there should be at least enough for everyone to get a few bowls.

So if I put (1) sealed 12 oz. tub of 5 year old Walnut in the box, I can take (6) 2 oz. sealed tins, or (1) 8 oz. and (2) 2 oz. sealed tins, or any combination there of as long as it equals 12 oz.?

Lol, I'm seriously hoping there's some Walnut left when it gets to me... funny thing is Walnut isn't to be found amongst the drug-store blends around here (that I've seen... but then again I usually go to a tobacconist or the net lol)... mostly PA, CH, Sir Walter Raleigh, Velvet etc...

Of course from the sound of it, maybe all I have to do is cut up some of the box and maybe throw in a plastic bag for added flavor and I'll have a pretty good picture of what it's like?
