Hiram-2011 is one of the Bro's here on Bob and has PM'd with me about 'baccy and pipes and he recently got three pipes from Kirk Fitzgerald in England. He's a VERY talented new pipe maker who does ALL his pipe work TOTALLY with HAND TOOLS except for the bowl and airway drilling, NO lathe work as he does not own one, just files, rasps and elbow grease. He did a 1/8th bent Pot with plateau rim and a three ringed wide fishtail bit which I think is acrylic. Well to make a long story short, Shane ( Hiram-2011) decided he would gift me this BRAND NEW Artisan pipe TO ME !! It is a PERFECT straight grain in a polished lightly golden/tan stain and is very lightweight and about a grp 5/6 in size.
Not only did he send me this BEAUTIFUL pipe, he also included a matching briar tamper that Kirk made to go with it !! It's a nice finger filling size and I'm sure would work great but it's just TOO PRETTY to get ashes on it !!  As if this wasn't enough he included 4 1 oz baggies of 4 different HU blends from Germany!!! They are ALL English/ Balkan blends with some having Syrian Latakia in them !! This was just WAAAAY to much for me and I nearly broke down and cried !! I now am the owner of TWO Artisan pipes and this is something that was so foreign to me!!
A true gift from a TRUE BROTHER and I'm really at a loss for anything else to say and thank you really doesn't cover what I feel !! Here's Kirks photo of it :

Congratulations on your fine pipe and tobacco! A huge hurrah to Hiram-2011!

Congrats Mon! That is one awesome pipe. As always the guys on this forum are beyond generous.

Enjoy that pipe!. I have 7 of Kirk's pipes, and every one is a great smoker. I find the larger ones love the va flakes. The ketup-y ones too! LOL. Props to Hiram for that. He is a great guy.

The 'perfect' new home for that pipe Mon, Hiram is an exceptionally well mannered and gentle natured man and it was and is a genuine privilege and honour to be counted amongst his friends. When Hiram told me of his plans for this pipe I could have flipped somersaults right on the spot, to say I was elated at this fantastic news is a true understatement and to include some very generous samples of some wonderful tobaccos, well that just makes the whole affair truly magical.

Enjoy your gifts in rude good health Mon and kudos to Hiram for the spectacular and heart warming generosity.

Shane can be counted on to be a gentleman in all things. Monbla you are in for a great treat. You have an opportunity to have magic at your fingertips. Wait til you smoke that BSP pipe. You will be singing.

Like JP, I have the good fortune to have a number of Kirk's pipes...each and every one smokes like a dream.

So congratulations is in order all around!

Congratulations Michael! Way to go Shane! I'm sure you are really going to enjoy the new BSP! Kirks pipes are amazing! Enjoy it and the tobacco in rude good health!

Jim
