I think we can probably scrounge up a few guys who know a thing or two about pipes to judge 'em. I understand the very famous Rod Davies frequents this board, and there are a few other illustrious names from the bowels of the pipe community as well.

This sounds like a lot of fun and I've been thinking about trying to carve my own pipe for a few months now ...
I don't want to commit as the next couple of months are going to be very busy with a big cross-country relocation (more like a vertical move) coming up but if I can carve something I will.
