I was at my local B&M and they just got in the new Peterson Holiday Blend 2010 and I have to say it smells incredible but I wanted to know if anyone has any input before I plunk down my hard earned dough for something a little more pricier than I would normally pay.

I've eyed it the past couple times I've gone to the B&M, but seeing as not really a fan of aro's I've passed it up. I'd also be curious to hear what others think

Ordered some more good stuff today and looked hard at that, but would also like to hear others reports.

Hey Fellas,

I ordered a tin a few days ago and it should be here anytime. I will try a bowl or two and let you know. I will say I enjoyed the 2009 Peterson offering and have two quart Kerr jars of it in the cellar. The alpha female likes it best of all.

OK Man!
Between a rock and a hard place here. Nearly got some yesterday but I am worried that these are hectic aro's. I have 09 in cellar as well as 2010 special reserve. It is a xmas baccy and so deserves to be in my cellar, besides that the tins are so cool.

Will someone tell us how aro potent the stuff is....... will make my call then!!!!

Hey Brother Piet,

When and if I smoke an aro, I always go for Peterson. My Christmas 2010 hasn't made it here yet but I have smoked a bit of the Christmas 2009. You are right, the tins are cool which is one of the reasons I bought it. The other being I thought the alpha female might tolerate it after I read the description. I have not smoked any in a while but I did not find it a bad smoke. The tin aroma is great, kind of a spicy vanilla and some apple and that is the way it smells while smoked. I gave some to one of my mechanics for Christmas and I waffed it while he was smoking. I found for myself that smoking it slow seemed to bring out more of the flavorings and it didn't bite me at all. Having said that, the Peterson aro's seem to agree with me more than any others. This is certainly an aro and I am no tobacco reviewer but I know what I like and found it pretty good. Will let you know on the 2010 offering. I think it is worth a shot, but I'd try it for the cool tin. This probably hasn't helped you at all but that's my take on it.

Thanks brother.......
This info is valuable!! thanks for thaking the time to post it up for us.
We eagerly await your take on 2010!!!
Besides the piss cool tin that is!!

Just got 2 tins today and Im trying it out right now. Its not a light aromatic, kind of close to the thick side in terms of room note. It smells great and for those that have wives or girlfriends that appreciate you smoking aromatics, then this blend will do just fine.

So this is a potent or light aro???

My 2010 tin will be here at the shop in the morning along with the Preben. I'm gonna bring the Bjarne Apple in the morning (my aro pipester), crack it open and give it a go.

Will do. I was planning on smoking a bowl first thing and posting up my thoughts on it. The rest of the day will be spent with Preben.

Thanks bro.................wil give it a miss then!!
Dang........... just the tin is worth 200 bucks in my book!

I tried it this morning and like the 09 better. My business partner said it smelled great but I didn't like the flavor. I didn't find it in the same league as their other aro's. I'll give it a couple of more shots and see if it grows on me.

Awesome, thanks guys for the input. I'll give it a shot if my B&M cracks one for a sampling, but good to know not to drop 30 bucks for something that might not be up to snuff.

id imagine it to be good.

i didnt give deluxe mixture a fair chance. dipped into a ball jar of it this morning. a lot better than i remembered!

mmmmmm christmas '10

cookies and cream

tin is a nice one, its hinged so it'll be a good keeper tin for sure.

room note of course gained approval of all.

believe it or not i can still pick out the virginias in it. very tasty

oh yeah, id like to give a thank you to smokingpipes.com not sending the free altadis 1M this time. they surprised with a little over a half and ounce (.71 i think) of MacBaren's 7 seas!

I am working through a tin of Peterson's Holiday season 2010 tobacco. The tin note and room note are fantastic. Taste-wise, meh. I find the flavor inconsistent and the aftertaste quite unpleasant.
