Been venturing into more burley-centric blends after smoking some HH burley flake and GH rum flake this month. I'm really loving the rum flake, the HH flake is excellent but just a little too monotone for me.

I have smoked a bunch of blends with some burley in them and am not a huge fan of Kentuckydark fired, but now i'm wondering what aromatic burley blends you guys reach for?

Thanks for any recommendations!

Rivendell from the Middle Earth line of Country Squire. Though I understand from comments recently read here that they are changing the name. It’s a very, very friendly and desirable blend.

Storm Front by John Patton available from 4 Noggins. Spectacular stuff.

Work your way thru the Boswell, Smoking Pipes, and Pipes&Cigars websites. J.M. Boswell has quite a few that might tickle your fancy!! I can't recommend any particular ones as I don't "do" aromatics other than Bob's Chocolate Flake and The Kendall mayor's Chocolate Flake. Good luck with your journey!! FTRPLT

Whoops...Meant to add the Wilke Tobacco website (just Google "Wilke Tobacco")

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I have all the stuff to make urban cowboy so I'll whip that up soon and report back, I have about 5 blends from CS I haven't gotten to yet and I'll order some boswells, as long as I can get to the mail box before my wife 😀
The Urban Cowboy is a great blend, and hope you enjoy it.

LJ Peretti built their 100 + year old reputation on burley.
Try some Blend DD (Double Deer tongue) it is an outstanding blend with a great burley base.
Don't tell anyone, though, I'm about to run out and I don't wanna go over to Peretti's and find nothin' but empty shelves

PS, I make my own blend I call Urban Cowboy which several on here have adopted. It does have ODF but only 15%. You could cut that down but I feel it gives the blend a bit more taste. 65% SWR, 20% black cavendish, 15% ODF.
I have a few tubs of the older Lane made SWR. I'm going to make Urban Cowboy with that. Do you use unsweetened black cavendish or BCA or Captain Black Dark?

I use Smokers Pride black cav which per their description is sweetened with cocoa.
OK, that sounds good. I actually have a bag of Smoker's Pride Vanilla Cavendish and Cherry Cavendish jarred up together. It's a pretty good old fashioned no nonsense smoke. It reminds me of being a kid in the early 80s when my uncle smoked his pipes. The room note brings me back. I use CB Dark in some of my mixes. I'll try that. Hey Ranger, I forgot to ask you, do you use Cowboy Coffee as your base? Or is it plain Dark Fired Kentucky by itself then the SWR and black Cavendish?

Great topic mosin, I have really enjoyed the great recommendations also guys.
I am a bit overwhelmed with the abbreviation's though you buggers  I'm not real smart but I can lift heavy things

Hmmm...I wonder what a couple weeks in the brick press would do for this.
Got me gears a-spinnin' now, Ranger.
