Sure, plenty. And ticks, too.
But think about it...I hike all day (or whatever portion) and then camp close to dusk. You get your fire going and the smoke scatters the bugs. Then, by mid-night or so they're all gone anyway. So by the time I'm swinging, there's nothing buzzing about. Then, it's usually until about 9am or so before they start popping around.
There's also room enough (especially in the ENO) to wrap the side of the hammock around your face, if you're that whigged out.
The trip the pictures are from was cool. About 3am it started pouring (I almost didn't put my fly up, 'cause the weather was so nice). Talk about awesome! I'm able to peek out around the corner of the fly and check out the sky, all while being perfectly dry. Next day, it's raining in the am...I have a nice little compound and place to sit. Either in the hammock, or on my bear can. It was fun.
