A couple weeks ago I lost my main job and am having problems finding another one. I have a part ttime job that is giving me more hours but it will be very tight financially.I have alot of resumes out so hopefully I will hear something soon. Until then while I can I am spending alot of time with my family since I haven't seen them much since july.

I then learned this morning that a friend and former room mate was killed in a drunk driving accident (the other driver in the other car) I am so sick of it there have been warnings on warnings on warnings on the risks, and punishments, when is the government going to step it up and actually make the punisment more harsh and actually follow through with it?

It goes along with every other crime in this country,if they actually do as they are supposed to there would be far less crime.

Here we have a 34 year old man that was a good friend and always treated other good that had his life cut short by the irresponsibility of another person. where is the justice in that?

Sorry about your friend, don't know what else to say. As a reporter in college I once covered the plea hearing for the drunk driver who killed a student at our school. The student's sister got on the stand to say her piece to the defendant, screaming and crying. The defendant? His plea deal got him just 120 days in jail followed by ten years probation. Messed up, but the defendant's life is ruined regardless, as the student's cousin said during an interview.

Very sorry to hear that. In LA county there is a pilot program going on that places a mandatory ignition interlock device restriction on anyone arrested for a DUI here. The IID pilot program is due to run until 2015, and hopefully longer.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

Locally, a plastic surgeon was totally drunk (3X limit) a couple of years ago and, while driving 90 in a 35 zone, ran into the back of a car driven by a 20-year-old ballerina (reputed to be very talented). She was killed. He has been charged with 2nd-degree murder, and is standing trial this week. The prosecution has to prove "malice aforethought"; otherwise, it is not 2nd degree murder.

...oh, and the job situation is pathetic. Good luck! When will this end? I know who I ain't voting for in 2012.

Well he was laid to rest today, and I heard the state police are looking to nail the other driver for everything they can. It turns out not only was the guy driving drunk but also doing 70 or so.
