Bari Ruby Bent Brandy (8001)

Ebay steal. Was already watching this and the seller dropped the price and buy it now at $29!

So, came in the mail today. Maiden smoke while grillin/sm9kin some chicken ****s.
Tobacco? Unknown. Why? Found this ziploc tub in my closet that had been there a decade. Not a mason jar, a ziploc twist and seal tub.... a decade. It's D.R.Y.

i think the tobacco is a solani mixture, either a Va or a Va/Per, cuz thats all i smoked back then, and its surely not anything w latakia or orientals, etc.
I opened this tin w a foil wrapper inside, tried it, had a bad chemical reaction to it, worse than tongue bite! I think this is it as it still tingles as soon as i light it and its DRY!

Initial impressions.
+love the brandy shape, some of my fav pipes have been egg/brandy/tulip shapes. Seem elegant.
-stem is tapered a bit at the end, i like lovat/saddle stems, they don't slip around.
+bowl is super deep
+light enough to clench
+/-doesn't sit, i have a pic of the bottom, ki da flat, just not enough
-attempted to pass a cleaner through it, it stops where the tenon buts up to the shank
+/-don't think i did this justice w this tobacco. Yep... not a fair trial. My fault.

Overall, solidly built, beauty, doesn't whistle but you can hear it... not like sucking through a straw, but not restrictive. Stem slips in the teeth due to taper and oval shape, it happens. This is about as "bent" of a pipe as i like to go nowadays, pipe cleaners not passing is the reason.
To me, it compares to my old Stanwells in build quality (looks/sturdyness) - but my Stannys are all straight or only about 1/8th bent.

I like it. Will give it a shot with better tobacco. Just not a GH Dark Flake that'll have me floored! This bowl is DEEEEEEP!

That is a great looking pipe, and at 29 bucks that's a great steal. I never seem to find good deals on ebay lol

I used to be great at sniping. We had a topic called "ebay finds". One year i sniped almost 20 pipes in one night... all solid pipes, no more than $30 for old sasieni 4 dots, stanwells, bc's, petersons, kbb's... had ppl asking me to snip for them.

I sat on a tin of tobacco for a year!
Was worth it. A large tin, A&C Peterson... all it had was a factory printed sticker with typed words on it with "curly cut" and 1997.
I still have 2 bowls left in a mason jar. Still have the tin, too.
