I became friends with this Pipemaker from across the pond who uses the name Briar Spirit as his moniker and his pipe company name, I’m proud to now own one of his pipes.

Sure looks like a nice pipe!! Did ya smoke 'er yet?
Enjoy for many years to come

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

Banjo, have you been in touch with Kirk recently? He dropped off the radar several years ago and was an active member here until then. He also ran his own website that myself and others here were on.

I have several of his pipes and they're all great smokers.

Last I heard he was having a tough time with personal matters.

Cheers,

RR

I got this as an estate through Blueroom Briars, I have not seen hide nor hair of Kirk for quite some time, I know he’d been battling issues and hope he’ll get through it, regards.

Thanks. He'd be pleased to know that this pipe has gone to a good home.

Nice one, Banjo!  I have one of Kirk's pipes myself and it's a wonderful smoker. Enjoy!

I do hope Kirk will check in one of these days.

I, too, am fortunate enough to have a couple of Kirk's pipes. He's a gifted pipesmith. I last heard from him perhaps two years ago. He was battling with some tough personal circumstances at the time and it was then that he dropped off the radar. I hope he's ok too. He was a mainstay of the BoB and his absence has left a bit of a hole.

Here's to you Kirk, where ever you are!

Here, here!

I have one of his pipes and can truly say it's one of the BEST I've owned in over 50 years of pipe smoking!

I commissioned a pipe from Kirk a few years back a it's a mainstay in my rotation. Kirk is a rare talent a carves his pipes using only hand tools, mostly files, sand paper, etc. He doesn't own a single piece of heavy machinery. He did a marvelous job on the pipe he made for me.

I sincerely hope he's doing better. But yeah, he was having a rough go of it prior to dropping off the board

I had hoped the title of this thread was the reawakening of a long lost brother.
I am the lucky owner of no less than 5 of Kirks pipes. One of which is a meer I asked him to carve from a raw block I acquired.

Sadly not heard from him either.

I do hope he pops up again one day.
