Buggy BoB?

Anyone else getting constant email messages from the forum after they reply to topics in BoB? I can't recall ever clicking the "Watch this topic for replies" feature, lower right hand at the bottom of any thread... I've had to use the suggestion of the following quite a few times this morning:

"If you no longer wish to watch this topic you can either click the "Stop watching this topic link" located at the bottom of the topic above, or by clicking the following link:"

...tying to figure out if it's a board thing or possibly a browser issue. Been some weird things happening lately.

Same thing is happening to me.

Doubt it's a browser issue, but I'm using Firefox if that means anything.

Also, I tested something.

WHen I first logged into this thread, the link said to "click here to watch this thread" or whatever specific verbiage I used. After I posted my first response, it changed to "click to stop watching this thread" or whatever.

It would seem that we're automatically being subscribed to any thread we're logged into.

Ok...sorry for all of the testing posts, but it seems that something in our profiles were automatically changed.

If you go into your profile, than to your preferences, you can set "always notify me of replies" to "no." I don't know if this was recently added and the default setting was 'yes,' or if the default had been 'no' and was changed for some reason.

Either way, it's a quick enough fix (hopefully it doesn't reset itself)

Figures. All of my profile settings were back to "default." I've changed them--again :lol: back to how they should be. Now, we wait.

I think forumotion is working on the watched system. There were a bunch of people complaining that it wasn't working when they tried to watch a topic. In doing so I thing they set the preference:

Always notify me of replies :
Sends an e-mail when someone replies to a topic you have posted in. This can be changed whenever you post.

To Yes by default because mine was changed as well.

To change it back go to Profile - Preferences and change the above setting to No.

Still getting emails from threads with preferences changed... not on every thread/post/topic, but just got one now. Might have been from before I re-set my preferences, too--not sure how "smart" the code is.

If you go to Profile - Topic(s) being watched, it lists all the threads you are signed up to receive email alerts on. If there isn't anything listed there and you are still receiving them let me know. I cleared mine out and they stopped.

Im not that smart when it comes to computers . All that notifacation dont work for me. If im watching a topic I just hit the refresh from time to time and I can keep up on the posts. I have had no troubles from this.

I was having the same issue. I checked my preferences and, sure enough, my settings were back to default. Changed them back to my preferences and now all is well and right.

As I never check my email,, because of all the spam crud that I have to delete.
I checked my profile and sure enough, I had to reset it too.
Now I have to go check my email,,,NOT,,, I'll get to it someday

I switched my preference to "no" but I keep getting them. WTF?

I think the problem is the system still thinks that since you replied to messages while it was ticked as "yes," even though you switch to "no," it's just "no" from that point forward. Just gotta keep unwatching them until they stopped. That was the key for me.

I had this problem, too. Since I did what Jason said to do, it appears to have stopped.
