The shank is cherry. Most of the pipes in this style have cherry shanks. The pipes are more common in Meerschaum than in porcelain Some of the most beautifully carved ones are in wood (see Ben Rapaport's latest book THE WIDE WORLD OF WOOD TOBACCO PIPES).Can anyone tell me anything about this? I have like 50'more I have questions about. Hopefully I don't annoy yall.
