I've yet to find a cigar forum that has anywhere near the civility, knowledge, good writing and general grace as BoB. Does anyone know of one?

Have you tried International Cigar Club?
Activity isn't what it once was, but it is
civil and the guys there know cigars.

botl.org Brothers of The Leaf was great, but it got a little too cliquey and political so I stepped off.

There are some great closed and private groups on FB, but they are hot or miss.

try to visit Cigar Asylum Forum (cigarasylum.com)
one of the best cigar forums and it also includes pipe forum
very friendly and knowledgeable people there

The only part of CA that has substance, IMHO, are the reviews. The general forum is vapid.
