Yeah, now the "Connecticut" shade wrapper leaves are grown in the banana republics, much cheaper. The former connecticut river tobacco lands have been sold to developers, I figure.I'm from Connecticut. You have no idea how many of those leaves I picked and hung every summer as a 14-15 year old kid.
Right of passage for most kids I knew. Now all the tobacco barns are gone and hardly any is grown there anymore. It used to be famous for the wrapping leaves.
