So I picked up a cool looking Dunhill Oom Paul of the ePrey. The description mentioned that there was something wrong with the stamping, which is why I think I got such a good price on it. It is hard to see but you can make out the stamp "NOT FOR SALE" underneath what appears to be a newer stamp with the normal stamping. I tried to do a little research but all I came up with was a quote from another forum:
Does anyone know anything about these Dunhills? After examining the pipe, I can say that it is in great condition. I cant find anything indicating a flaw in craftsmanship. Any comments would be appreciated.
These "Not For Sale" Dunhill's were intended as gifts to Sales Reps and Store Owners who sold Dunhill Pipes and Products. They stamped them NFS to insure the Store Owner or Sales Rep would not sell them. These generally draw more interest/bidders than other Dunhill's because they are somewhat of an oddity. They are the same quality as any other Dunhill, so they smoke the same.
