So, I am giddy like a 7 year old school girl right now and since y'all are brothers to me and basically the only friends I talk to, albeit online, I am going to tell ya why.
For those of you that don't know I have three kiddos with my ex-wife. A 7 year old school girl, a 5 year old boy, and a 2 (almost 3) year old girl. The 7 year old looks like me, except a girl of course, and acts like me. She is an all around daddy's girl, heck she likes shooting my crossbow in the back yard, fishing, and playing in the mud. The other two kiddos are coming along nicely as well. I have always maintained the stance that I intend on taking my kids from her as soon as I can. Well, she is now on her fourth eviction in as many years and dealing with that and my 7 year old, who has always made it clear she wants to be with me, has become too much to handle. A quick history of the ex. She had two kids when we met, that she gave up to their dad in court. She has my three. And then after our divorce ended up prego again by a random stranger and gave that one up for adoption. Anyhow, the ex is giving me permanent custody over the 7 year old finally. The oldest has been rebelling and such all with the explanation that she wants to be with me, and if I have to work then in Illinois with my family. So come the beginning of next month I am sending my sis out to grab her from the ex and handle the papers, she has a POA to do so.
I went ahead today and grabbed her a bunk bed and mattresses, pink sheets, and a Tinkerbell comforter (Tink is her favorite). On top of that I already got a 4 foot tall dollhouse and furniture to go in it. All her expensive toys are still in IL because I didn't want them "getting lost" (sold). All of this will just make it even easier when the time comes to swoop in and get the other two. So yeah, I am giddy like MY 7 year old school girl who also happens to be giddy like.....you get the point.
If you;ve been around BoB for a while and know me then this is directed at you brothers, for the new guys....well an intro into the life of me. I write this smoking a bowl of Frog Morton so life is SPLENDID. Sorry if this bores y'all but I had to share and y'all have become a second family to me.

Congrats on getting your kid back. I could not imagine being with out mine full time.

I don't know nuthin' 'bout kids, but I do know it's the right thing to do to take care of 'em, and you obviously want to do that, it'll make your kid happy, and I know a happy brother when I read about one. So, if this is a "win for the good guys" I'm all for it.

Yep, I am elated. I still have to finish this deployment and do one more to set everything up, but I know while I am gone she is in good hands. I still worry about the other two and will until I have them, but this is a big key step. This deployment all debt will be gone and one more I can have at least 5k in each kids college account. It will suck being away, especially having custody, but this sets life up for them in the future and makes it easier to transition into police work.

I commend you for working so hard to set everything right and planning ahead. 8) I can't even scrap together $5K for myself.

Good dads are getting harder and harder to find Kaiser. I'm glad you're one of the good ones

Congrats on the good news Kaiser its nice to see a brother so happy.

Great news. I'm so happy for you. Custody stuff is always sticky. When your kids are older they will look back on what you are doing for them and be so proud of you.

Congrats, Kaiser!

She'll be much better off with your family, and it should make it easier to get the other two when you get back. Seriously - the best news I've heard in a while.

Awesome news Kai, congratulations!!!

That's great news, hope that everything goes off without a hitch.

Terrific news, man! Most importantly, it sounds like it's probably the best thing for your kiddo.

That's fantastic news!!!
I'm ecstatic to see that there are good fathers left in this world, and you're one of them! Congratulations on getting custody. Being there for a kid, and letting them know they are loved no matter the age is incredibly important. Sounds like you got that covered. Now just get the other two.
Good for you brother!
Zach

Great news, Brother. Congratulations!!!

It's so good to hear a man who cares as much as you do excited about raising his daughter. I have one daughter, (she's not little anymore, she's a mother of two girls and a boy) and helped raise three boys in my third marriage and have to say I so enjoyed my daughter and she and I have a very close relationship today. They need a father, but more importantly, fathers become BETTER with the influence of a daughter! Pay attention and she will teach you much as you both grow together. And remember, in your deployments, you need to take care of those you are with, and get home to that daughter and children, so the hell with the "patriot" thing so many put out, keep your head down and GET HOME :p

I have found this to be true, if a father is worth his salt. I can't speak for sons as I have two daughters.

Overjoyed Kaiser! Thanks for sharing your good news and a bit of your heart.
