Sorry sorry, just got done with all those darn flights. I am still a go for tomorrow.

It is going to come down to the 11th hour for me. I'll keep you posted.

Just thought I'd check in here to be sure I didn't miss the final call. Since I hadn't posted here before I haven't gotten any of the updates so I hope this will work out for me as well. I thought we were going to shoot for before noon today...the afternoon/evening are really bad for me today, my wife needing a ride home since she had to go in to a client meeting really early this morning and went there with another work person that lives nearby...so I get driving duty. She's been down with the flu for a few days but could NOT miss this thing as it's the final presentation they've been working on for something like 3 months. I'm supposed to pick her up at about the same time you finally came up with - something like 3 p.m. - and will then have to play nursemaid to her during the evening. I can't even believe she went in to this thing, but she's tough...while on drugs...but then crashes!

If it doesnt work out for today/this evening to meet with you guys I'll mail the POY down to the address I have for the celebrated Mr. K in Reynolds, IL.

Keeping my fingers crossed...but if Darrell is tied up til 3 p.m. at the earliest it looks a bit grim!

- BH

I am planning on leaving just before 4 to pick up K on the way to Rich's. Gravel is still working details to see if he comes with me.

BH may miss this due to his wife feeling under the weather, it seems. But PMd him to say to meet us if he could.

4 p.m. kills it for sure for me. Bad situation all around, as detailed above.

I'll see if I can get a stand-in for here, but I have no idea who that would even be...there's one friend of hers I'll call to see if she's available.

Nope. I emailed her at work and she's tied up too. Busy time of year I guess.

Sorry guys.

Family always comes first brother, no apologies necessary. We'll have another shot at meeting in another 7 months or so lol.

Some images from tonight's meeting. It was a good time and Rich's was quite a bit more impressive with their selections and wisdom than I figured they would be. Bill, the manager or owner or whatever he is was a nice older gentleman who smoked right along the whole time and the other guy whose name I just blanked on was quite knowledgeable about pipes and tobacco too. They let us smell and try all the blends we wanted and only marginally encouraged PAD/TAD.

In true brother fashion not a bit of PAD/TAD was dissuaded in the slightest. It was a darn good time followed by a romantic stroll...er uh....manly stroll and candle lit...er uh....dinner of pizza at a restaurant filled with women dressed in next to nothing...yeah that is what I am going with. Great time guys, thanks for meeting up, it was a pleasure.

Right on. :D

Fish & I hung out last month when he was in Sacramento, we had a great time. Good to see you guys getting together.

Matt (the younger guy) and Bill were very helpful. Good guys and a great shop.

It was good to meet up with Kaiser and watch him shuffle on 1/2 hour sleep through downtown Portland. Also, it is infinately more fun to encourage PAD/TAD in person.

Thanks for the quick visit Kaiser and for organizing the get together. It was a pleasure to meet you, brother.

I must say we had a blast. Although I have never met a person so obsessed with fishtail Peterson pipes. Or really Peterson all together. Fan-boy comes to mind. ;)

(It was our running joke of the evening, much to his chagrin)

Thanks for taking a little time to spend with us on your already busy schedule brother. Hope you have a fantastic Christmas.

Thanks for the pictures! The BoB meets ups look like a great time. I think I need back up for moral support whenever I am in Rich's.

Thanks for posting those photos! It's always nice to see BoB's in action.

Rich's looks to be an especially well stocked place, too. I can't remember being to a B&M with that much tinned tobacco in stock. Awesome.
