Hey folks,

I've never tried any Sutliff blends, but the current sale at SP makes them very tempting - $1.50USD per ounce?!?

Reviews online seem to be a mixed bag - some great, others not so much. I'm all for saving a buck on my baccy order, but don;t want to waste it on ho-hum blends either.

Opinions? The floor is open!

I'm not a big Sutliff fan due to most of the blends being over topped and goopy.

Only two blends that I would recommend you trying:

Sutliff 965 Match....light on the Latakia
&
This is the one Sutliff blend you should definitely try...Sutliff Ready Rubbed Match ....out of stock right now but if you call and speak with Mark or Chip they will honor the 20% off sale.

NEITHER HAS CIGAR ? LEAF ?

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

The only one I've really cared for was their 965-Match -- if I smoked more Latakia blends, I would go for that if they have it in stock if you like the type.

Right now I'm really enjoying the Match Dunhill Elizabethan mixture. Really nice VaPer. Great ribbon cut, perfect moisture level, easy to pack and light and sip. Get you some of that!

I will not swear to it but I thought the Sutliff Match Dunhill Elizabethan mixture was discontinued???

''Twas a Sutliff favorite of mine at one time.

PS
Dunhill Elizabethan mixture is still available, but for how long?

Sutliff's Elizabethan Match is an attempt to replicate the Murray's version, and though it doesn't quite make a perfect match, it's a durn good smoke, and superior to the German's version.

In regard to non-aros, I also like Sutliff 1849, Edgeworth Match, Count Pulaski, Voodoo Queen, Briggs Match, Country Doctor Match, and several of their English blends. I'll count EGR as it is a mild aromatic.

Yup, I totally agree but Sutliff's Elizabeth Match has not been available for quite some time. Someone, I don't remember who told me they thought it was discontinued. Now I'll keep my eyes open.
Smokingpipes does not show it at all. Just did a quick web search and can not find any tobacco's retailer that has Sutliff's Elizabeth Match. They all have the Sutliff 965 version.

P&C and 4Noggins carry Elizabethan Match. it was not discontinued. If you want Smoking Pipes to carry it, I suggest you ask them to do so. They listen to their customers.

I don't do business with P&C. 4Noggins is where I use to purchase Sutliff's Elizabeth Match but they've been out of stock on it forever. Later in the day I will call Rich @ 4Noggins and see if he expects it back eventually. Youbetcha Smokingpipes has great customer service!!!

Yo Ont

If you like light VA flakes, Sutliff #507c Virginia Slices is an absolute steal, even without the sale.
