Gotta try the Walnut :pipe: :pipe: :pipe:
How can you not?

Not going anywhere near anything named Rum and Maple. If I review the reviews again on Walnut, I may just pass on that too. NOW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if someone were to loan me his S. Bang,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Live Bait, Leroy Mercer and JP can't all be wrong,,,,,,,,,,,,,,can they?

I'm going to grind up some Viagra and sprinkle it on the Walnut. The Daniels boys will hit ALL of the Sacramento Wal Marts.

This mornings sampling was McClelland #22 Virginia. McC puts out some very high quality va's and this is no exception. Typical for them is that trademark Hienz overtone. Not too objectionable in 22, though. I have a stockpile of aged #27 that seems to have lost the vinegar essence. #22 is a smooth medium va to me, perfect for a morning wake up smoke. A bit grassy but I actually like this in a va. I have many mid strength va's in the cellar that are very similar to this. If you are looking for a base line va, this might be it. Pipe used was a Ser Jac L1 Maxima straight billiard,,,,,perfect for long nice smokes of va/vaper/vaburley. No burn/bite. Very smooth, dry and clean; as a quality va should be.

Thanks to whoever put this in.

OKAY! WHAT's NEXT.

Stand back,,,,it's time for Mercer Mule Manure. I am going to give this a fair shot.

Baggie aroma IS decidedly aromatic,,,,, think country fair cotton candy.

Appearance is broken ribbon. Looks good. No discernible different tobaccos. All is medium brown. Moisture is very acceptable but it has a bit of a sticky polygoopalene feel that is reminiscent of the 60's aros that I smoked before discovering Balkan Sobranie, Dunhill and State Express.

I am about to put match to it. If it goops up my pipe, I'm hitchin a ride out east on a turnip truck and will look to whupp Leroys punk hill billy ass.

Here goes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Forgive me.

First match,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lights readily (kindling?),,,,,,,,,,,,aromatic nose,,,,,,,,,sweet smelling,,,,,,,stasys lit well,,,,,somewhat bitter tasing initially (burley),,,,,,,no latakia,,,,,one dimensional,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not really bad but not really good either,,,,,,,,,,sweetness abating,,,,,,settling down a bit,,,,,,potentially hot if oversmoked,,,,,,,breath smoking brings back the county fair cotton candy aroma,,,,,,,,should attract the Alysson Krauss' out there.

Tamp and re-light coming up,,,,,

Low in nicotine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not too much flavor,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,still a slight bitterness,,,,,,,,,,not heavy on the tongue,,,,,,,,,,,,,burns very well,,,,,,,going fast,,,,,,where's the beef,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not really much of a tobacco satisfying taste,,,,,,,,,clean burning,,,,,,,,,nice white ash(just like Leroy's),,,,,,,,,no gurgle,,,,,,,no shiny black crystalline reidue in the bowl,,,,,

Two analogies come to mind,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Mario Andretti in the family SUV against Grandma in a Corvette would be a car race,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,sort of.

Halfway between Rita Perlman and Anna Nicole Smith,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,fun while you're doing it but afterward you have to look back and realise what you did.

Pipe cleaner comes out surprisingly clean and not overly wet.

Conclusion,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,appropriate for cash strapped eastern kracker red neck striper fishermen and Kentucky nail chewin methane enriched truck drivers.

NOT awful,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not awfully good.

Good choice for :afro: 's S. Bang.

RETROSPECT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Just like Chinese food,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you're still hungry afterward,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,just like Rita Perlman.

Am reaching for my Sea Rock and some Bohemian Scandal,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Go away,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,leave me the f alone.

Leroy Mercer is a real :clown:

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :p :p :p :p :p

It's times like these that I'm glad I bought a meerschaum pipe.

Looking forward to it . . . . . . :pipe:

(the Walnut, that is)

 So which pipe did you use TJ?

I'll smoke Walnut through my Bang, I ain't skeered! :rabbit: You just wait and see! I'm actually looking forward to it, been hearing Mark talk about it for so long I'm going to give it a fair shake in a very good pipe.

Smoke the Rum and Maple man! Don't be a wuss!!! :!: C'mon, play ball :bball:

Again, really no need for comment after the colorful commentary by TJ......if nothing else very entertaining, though borderline worth an ass whupp'in.....

PD, the Rum and Maple is quite tasty but one dimensional. Careful though, it can bite! The bite kind of sneaks up on you.

Walnut......well, it is in a high grade league of it's own. I don't rightly give a da*n what TJ says!.........   An S. Bang will be a very appropriate pipe for Walnut.

I smoked the Mercer Manure in a Ser Jac Maxima straight bill. A LARGE pipe. Gave it more than a fair shake.

It was NOT the goopy sugary vomitous excremental mess that I expected. Just plain old kracker red neck burley with a top note. I followed it with a Castello full of 2002 McC Oriental 14. That was like eating dehydrated food for a week long backpack trip and hitting the first Round Table you come to. Like eating popcorn with no butter and no salt.

Seven toebakos,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,my ass.

The Rum & Maple had a pouch smell just like it did in 1965. Aint doin it, man.

I truly think JP has been spoofing us all along. Sorta like Tom Sawyer and the fence gig. Damned kracker carpet bagger. Fill him with buck shot, we should.

Burley soaked in :pirat: pee.
