My wife and I are expecting our first child, a daughter, on December 23. And because we're insane we just got a lovely kitten. Wish me luck.

A kitty? You so crazy!

Congrats on the significant life altering sleep depriving laughter filled life change!

Oh yeah, congrats on the first born!

Mad congrats brother!!!! A cat too! Man you must have a death wish. (kidding)

Jim

Lol try and get your sleep in now. At least it's not a puppy, cats take all of ten minutes to potty train. Got two dogs and two boys. Kids make your days just fly by.

The sleep deprivation only lasts awhile and you'll get used to it! You BOTH have entered into the BEST part of your life, your CHILDREN !! Learn to be like a stream around boulders and you'll look back with fond memories!! A KITTEH only adds cream to the pie !!

Cats are self sufficient so you don't have to worry about 'em. Kids, on the other hand, take a long time to potty train.

You might not sleep as much in the beginning, but you'll get used to it. In a few years, you'll discover it passed much faster than you thought.

Very cool news! Congrats on the new kitty, we have a young one too, and especially on the baby who's on the way. A Christmas baby at that. :D

Congratulations! My boys are 18 & 22, when they were babies I remember being warned about cat poo particulates.  Bad news, don't remember the details but you need to look into it my friend. I'm allergic to the little buggers or else we'd have had one when the boys were growing up.

I'm a life long anti-cat guy (sorry, but it seems to be genetic) but folks that have cats sure do seem happier than folks without pets. Congrats on the growing family! I wish you all the best as you embark on a most increadible adventure!
Mike.

Congrats brother, my second is due that same day. It's a wild ride.

We have two cats that predate my son by more than 10 years. They were...less than pleased...with his arrival. The fat one has excepted that his lot in life is to be hugged a little to hard by an over eager two year old. Skinny one still hides in the closet until the kid goes to sleep (but then goes and sleeps in his room).

...my .02... Having 6 sons, ages 12 to 31 and two grandkids 9 & 11, it will be a wild ride for a while...Best advice...relax...then relax some more. Your child will not be perfect and neither will you. The "rule book" changes constantly...so pick and choose wisely...the kitty will tend to itself...

Many congratulations! My son is 5 days old and it is the best feeling I've ever had in my life! Taking care of your new born baby will bring such joy to you and your family. You are in for a wonderful Christmas this year!
