The last time I ordered from Synjeco (last year) it cost me $60 in shipping for approximately 2 pounds of tobacco. However, they've always been easy to work with and in 13 years, I never had a problem with an order. But I can't afford to buy from them any more because of the shipping prices.

I'm surprised it doesn't come here already with how much FVF they must be selling in this market. And really, I assume FVF is just the plug sliced up into flakes... so in theory its less time/less processing for them to just ship it as a plug? Unless they do something differently for the plug format... dunno

I got Steve Monjure, an importer, interested in bringing Revor Plug into the US. The blender, a giant conglomerate, said no, they had no intention of selling it in he US. I think they decide where they think they'll make the most money. I think the europeans think plug is an Old World product.

That's a great pity. I love Revor Plug as do many others, and believe he read the market wrong.

His loss as well as ours............

They don't want any more profit, that's the way to run a business!

I wonder if it is has to do with the cost of developing and maintaining a market. If it costs more to sell it here than in Europe; and perhaps also those costs relative to their other products and the money needed, balancing that with their other products.

Hardly. This is an outfit that has local guys offering to create & service a market for it, and the outfit refuses to allow them.

Unless there's some cartel agreement behind the scenes that explains it, such stupidity is pretty typical of bureaucracies.

Casino in Vegas changes hands. New owners see $10M/yr. in welched bets made on the cuff and forbid extending credit. Casino guys point out that they "lost" $10M on paper, but made $30M/yr. doing that. Doesn't matter. No red ink in THIS operation ! So they kiss off $20M/yr. but feel good about running such a tight ship.

You see the same stupidity every year in sports, where teams insist that the players they have adapt themselves to fit their systems rather than tweaking their systems to capitalise on the strengths of their players.

The surest, simplest indication that Belief is in charge is that common sense and experience carry no weight.
