Been going up steadily here in the past few weeks. Now at $4.21 in my area, but about .10 less in the greater Seattle area.

Apparently there was a fire at one of the few refineries in WA state which put it out of commission for the time being. And they're blaming it on that and having to import more gas from Cali.

And then a refinery in Cali had a fire so then they blamed that.

And then Hurricane Issac reduced production in the Gulf, and they blamed it on that.....

Now they're saying prices should start falling as the refineries start switching from summer blends to winter ones. A-yup.

All I can say is I'm damn glad I got rid of my gas guzzler a few years ago.

Cheers,

RR

We are expected to see another "Quantitative Easing". The dollar will continue to decline if we continue to spend it like toilet paper.

Ya its now 3.50$ average here. It seems really bad when I'm filling up, but hearing bout you guys makes me think I got it good.

Filled up on the way to work today at $3.74. Down ten cents from yesterday afternoon.

As of this morning it's $3.69/gal here, and that's for the cheap stuff.
$3.74 here for the cheap stuff; a few weeks ago, there was about $.15 difference between grades, now there's $.25

At $4.10/gal or so around these parts. Still wouldn't trade my 4Runner "Greta" for anything. 22MPG ain't really good, but she never strands me, financially or physically.

I'm not sure what I'm paying in gas, but I feel the same about my 4Runner.

Greta's got 263K on her odo, I fully expect her to cruise well into the 300K's. She's a '97.

From the people I know who have them and seeing how they last, you outta get at least 300-k's out of that thing, and quite possibly 350-k or more.

135K is barely broken in...

...about 50K miles ago, I parked next to a guy who had a 1998 'Runner that had 510K.

Good thing I like that truck. 8)

Just to make you guys feel a bit better: I filled my new car up for the second time today - before I went out I did a search on http://www.petrolprices.com, the cheapest diesel within 15 miles of me was 8 miles away at Bude, where it was selling for 142.9p per litre. That's 649.6p per gallon, which equates to $10.41. It had about 1/8th of a tank left, and I filled it to the top. I walked away with a bill just over £96 or $153.72

42 gallons of diesel for the Excursion ran 172.27 today. That will last 6-8 days depending on work schedule.

We pay our company fuel every 2 weeks. I mailed a check yesterday for over $3000.00. There went my PAD money.
