Meteorological Spring. That's what they call it when March 1 rolls around, even though spring won't really be here until the Spring Equinox, March 20 or so. And it has felt like spring lately, with temps approaching 70 and the last of the snow finally gone. But I don't trust it, and that comes from years of experience. Our prairie weather is as fickle as can be; we could have gentle rains or thunderstorms this week, or weather tricking the local flora and fauna into thinking "it's time", or we could wake up to 6" of snow. But with a major case of the "shack nasties" I decided to get ready anyway. Trap league starts March 19, and this season I've decided to focus on the J Grade Fox (OK; it was cold when I took the pic...). Got my trap gear in order...

Ended last season with flies stuck everywhere and didn't do a good job of putting away the gear; did a bit of straightening and cleaning up...

And accompanied all with a bit of my carefully-hoarded McClelland's British Woods in this Peterson Lestrade...

I understand that a lovely baked fish and trimmings is on the dinner menu which I'm prefacing with a couple of generous Scotches, and with that I bid you all adieu and goodnight.
