I've been on this forum a little less than a year now, and in that time I've made some great friends, I've learned a ton, and I've even sold some pipes. You guys have encouraged me, enlightened me and helped me continue my passion for pipe making. So, I've decided to say thank you by giving back in one way I know how...by giving away a pipe.

I've done contests here before, but this isn't a contest. There is simply nothing you need to do except be you. I'm working on a commission right now for a BoB'er, and while I'm working on it, I'm also going to be figuring out which BoB member I want to give a pipe to. You guys won't know who it is until the "chosen one" gets his/her pipe and posts pictures of it. When he/she posts pictures, I'll chime in and explain why I've chosen that person.

So, sit tight. I imagine this will take 1-2 weeks total.

Thanks BoB!

Brian.

UPDATE!!!!

I have just created a new thread to announce the recepient of the pipe. You can see it HERE!!!!

dude, that is super cool. I am sure whomever it is, is going to be very happy...

until I steal it from them

Brian, that is WAY COOL, what a suprise someone will have!

To be able to comishion a pipe from you would be FANTASTIC, but to get one GIVEN by you goes beyond words :p :p

This isn't the first time Brian has given away a pipe. In fact, I think he has done it more than 3 or 4 times. This is a huge commitment to the community from a pipe carver. Those hours he puts in making the pipe are worth something. For him to sacrifice time and money out of pure benevolent philanthropy says quite a bit about his character. This community is fortunate to have someone like Brian as a member. I for one know that this kindness wears off.

Three cheers for Brian, the model of an excellent craftsman and also of a man with great character.

(P.S. I'm not trying to suck up here. I've been on the receiving end of Brian's well wishes more than once already. I'm just trying to inform the community about what a great guy he is!)

Maybe I will team up with Brian, and we can pick the worst, and least deserving forum member to receive one of my pipes...

well, it would be Kyle, so no mystery, kinda takes the fun out of it, nevermind

I think I've received enough brotherly bombs, donations and gifts lately. Don't.

Let someone else be humbled.

 can't say more than what already been said, what an awesome gesture!

This is a great community. People like you make it what it is.
