Isn't that the Assyrian demon in the archeological dig in the opening scene of The Exorcist? Be afraid. Be very afraid.

That is very nice. Any idea of brand and/or carver?

Very nice Meerschaum, with that intricate carving it should color well. I think a fine block meerschaum gives the best smoke..Enjoy!!

Wow!! Actually one of the first figure meers that I find really beautiful!

Reminds me a lot of many of the tritonic beasts found on 17th century architecture around Stockholm.

Nice find :)

It is solid block meerschaum unsigned from Eskisehir, Turkey, (In fact it just arrived today by DHL) it is amazing how you can get items mailed from across the pond faster that that from the next state.

I think they all come from the same consortium of about a dozen carvers , (interesting videos on youtube) Some are more detailed and polished then others and then signed at a premium cost.

While I do luv a good Briar with my flake, my meerschaums (most signed) do smoke very well and don't require as much rest time as wood.

Now that is a COOL pipe...love the intricate carving detail, let us know how she smokes.

I was totally going to say the same thing!

It is an impressive meer. I don't think I possess the gravitas (or suit of armor) to quite pull it off, but it looks fantastic.

Just got internet back again this afternoon after snow knocked everything out saturday night. Seems highest bidder backed out and I got lucky and accepted sellers offer.

Yes that Dragon will color well with age/use and look really good, like an ancient sculpture nice pipe indeed.

Super nice score on that pipe John, it's a piece of art, that's going to be a nice addition to your collection.
