That ditty comes from a CD compilation of old UK drinking songs entitled " The Tale Of Ale" by Vic Gammon. Circa '93. Great stuff. pm me if you'd like a dub.
Will do

We used to go there a lot a winter, a little easier to get to the bar and you can have a few games on the horn. Trip never tasted the same after HH moved the production and started making it in larger batches.

Pity, that. Lost the plot or succumbed to the bean counters then?
I am guessing it is, tastes like every other HH bitter now. At first i was happy to see it in my local, but then i had a few.

Sounds a good reason for me to re-visit next hol in O'l Blighty. I'll look you up mate!

CAMRA member then? I am since '82

Not a member, but i do get myself along to the many, many beer festivals we have here in Nottingham.

Welcome, thats so cool that you have your own blends of pipe tobacco, its something that has always interested me.
Welcome to the board.
Its a frustrating hobby sometimes, you have to wait and wait to find out that your blend is nothing like you expected.

Thanks, glad to have finally stopped being a lurker

Welcome to the forum and the best of luck with your blending / own label endeavours. If I were to win the lottery I would certainly back you on that. It would great to have some new blenders in England as it gets quite annoying reading about all the blends coming from the US that we cannot get in the UK.

Cheers

Chris
Cheers, you should try some of my blends ;). If you are coming along to the British Pipe Smoking Championships i will be there with a few of them. Its strange that hardly any other retailer in UK makes many blends. The Gawiths and other importer sell all the tobaccos you need.

Some of the blends i make for the shop can be found on tobaccoreviews under the brand Gauntleys. My other blends are not on there yet, but some have appeared on YouTube GQ Blends.
'Deliverance' looks like it could be a fun Christmas smoke! Too bad they can't send to the US (I understand there's some credit card regulations preventing it currently; if so, why can't they sell via paypal? anyone know?)
Paypal wont allow tobacco sales, its crazy. As far as i know the PACT ACT(FDA) restricts us aswell.
In the UK in general, or again just in regards to sales to the US? Oh well, either way, we're out of luck! Thanks for answering the question in any event
