Other that it's okay to get fall down stupid drunk, spend lots of money on Fireworks to burn up in the middle of the street just to see the pretty colors.  :fpalm:

Leaving aside Debbie Downer-ism I hope everyone had a great Fourth. Took the family to Smith Mountain Lake and watched an excellent fireworks display, listened to some music, and ate some overpriced food. All in all a very pleasant day. 8)

But what you speak of can apply to Canada as well. Up there we live with the PC (politically correct) police where nobody is allowed to be offended by anyone else. Canada Day was on the first of July.

I'll give that an amen cart. I spent a decent part of the evening, pipe in hand, explaining the reason for the holiday to my young son, nieces and nephews. They had no idea about it, and some of them are in third grade already!

Aside from that, I had a good time. Good food and time with family. And I did some amateur fireworks. Few mortars and such I got down south last year. Still have my mustache and ten fingers haha.
