Hi, all. I'm re-new to pipe smoking. I picked up the hobby about 10 years ago, but life got hectic and I got away from it. I just recently started up again. I'm enjoying some OTC's in a cob right now. I stumbled across this forum when I was doing a little research on briars because like an *****, I gave the few I had away when I didn't smoke them in a year... Looking forward to relearning things here!

Welcome Lou from one New member to another.
I have only smoked briars and meershaums, but my wife recently bought me a cob from our local tobacconist. I'm sure she bought it as a joke 🙄. But I gave it a try, and was more than pleasantly surprised. Now I'm on the lookout to add more cobs to my collection.

Looking for cobs you say? Check out the Cobbit series of Missouri Meerschaum pipes available at most vendors. Also, the cobs that have acrylic stems are particularly nice. While mire expensive the value is high. Link to the MM site below but they’re also available most everywhere.

Thanks for that Blackhorse, I have now purchased 5 more cobs, and looking forward to receiving and smoking them

The MM Country Gentleman and Mark Twain are the two I have now, and are probably my favorites.

Just added 2 MM Mark Twains, the straight and bent stemmed. I wanted the Country gent to, but it was out of stock. So not to be deterred, I added the MM General MacArthur, Dagner poker, and the Deluxe freehand from Black Swan Shop here in the UK.

Before my hiatus, I had four Mark Twains. I really like them! Hopefully you can get to try a Country Gent at some point. That was the first "good" cob I ever got (with the wood plug in the bottom) and it's still my favorite MM.

I have no doubt I'll get one sooner than later 👍

Welcome to BoB! As an outside smoker, except on v calm (rare) days, I mostly smoke MM Country Gentlemen cobs and they work well.
