I'm a transplanted Yinzer, but adhere to the adage about not getting The 'Burgh out of the boy. Stillers Rule! Love ya, Pens! Say, how about those Pirates?

From one 'burgher to the other - welcome!!
I wish I was a Burgher like yinz. I have loved Pittsburgh since my first visit over 25 years ago and wished I could get back some day. But no, I'm stuck in the frozen wastes.

A great book for 'Burghers, whether current, transplants or wannabes -- An American Childhood by Annie Dillard. She's a Pulitzer prize winner who was raised in Pittsburgh and tells her story as we wish we might tell ours. In one vignette, she and her pals are participating in every young Burghers favorite winter sport, pelting cars with snowballs as their hapless drivers try to get up the snowfilled hills. But one driver stops his car (knowing he'll now have to back down the hill) and chases little Annie trhough the streets of Shadyside. Annie likes being chased by the driver even more than pelting the cars with snowballs! Just a great read!
