I signed up for the forum a couple of years ago, but for whatever reason never started posting. I'm from Pawtucket, RI, and have been smoking pipes for the last 30 years or so (I'm now 54). I have a nice assortment of pipes, as well as the standard "junk shop find" story (3 Dunhills for five bucks each at a Salvation Army store in 1992). I'm a member of the Sherlock Holmes Pipe Club of Boston, but to be honest, I don't smoke a lot. In fact, there are some months in which the only time I smoke is at the monthly club meeting. That doesn't prevent me from appreciating pipes and tobacco, however.

I'm pretty much an English or Virginia smoker, and I lean toward English pipes, especially foursquares and skaters (although lately I've developed an appreciation for older Kaywoodies).

Regards,
Tom

How can this be!? A moderate tobacco user who isn't addicted to the evil weed and simply enjoys the consolation of his pipes! Surely this is statistically invaid!

Welcome and thank you, neighbor.
