Hello folks! I'm new to the pipe community (I just began three days ago) I'm just learning the in's and out's and do's and don't's. so does anyone have some pointers for me? So far I've purchased a Oom Paul from a local Resell shop and a brand new Angelo Billiard. I have a friend sorta showing some things but other then that I'm not too savvy to the ways of the briar, so I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks folks!

Welcome to the BoB. Glad to have you on board. I would suggest you go to the forum categories Pipe Techniques and The Tobacco Jar and spend considerable time reading the posted threads. You will find a host of valuable information from our knowledgeable members. I think you can find answers to most questions that a new pipe smoker might have. Of course you are free to post any questions you can't find answers to. All of us here are more than willing to share our knowledge and help guide you along in the wonderful amazing world of pipe smoking.:)

Welcome to the Brotherhood from a fellow Michigander. If you ever get the chance, you should go up to Flint and visit Paul's Pipe Shop. You will never find a larger selection of pipes and tobaccos. They are also on the web at www.paulspipeshop.com. They are currently celebrating their 85th anniversary of being in business.

There's a lot to learn in the beginning, but while reading the threads, if you find you have a question, post it right there, to that thread. If you don't get an answer perhaps start a new thread with that question. I asked a million questions when I started and got the information I needed.

Absolutely nothing wrong in asking questions.

Welcome!

Welcome to the boards, brother, you're in good company here. As others have and would say, the best thing you can do is keep puffing, and do what works best for you!
