Here I am smoking my custom bamboo-shanked MM Patriot while kayaking across the north end of Lake Michigan, to camp for a week on a series of uninhabited islands.

Just a quick side bar on All Creatures Great & Small. A few months back I binge watched every episode and it was noticeable that the main characters stopped smoking after the first few seasons. Apparently Mary Whitehouse and her cronies complained vociferously about all the smoking and drinking that was going on so the producers cut it right back. Best after that was Callum's lovely Prince that popped up occasionally, and Tristan with the odd Woodbine. Sigfried himself went from a pipe smoker to an anti smoker.

Now Stick, there's the pic you should have opened the thread with. I think too many people were intimidated by your Alpine skiing adventures. Heck, I had to paddle over the horizon in a tiny plastic boat to feel like I was measuring up.
Speaking of which:

I'd like to see them too, RR. Unforunately my third-hand camera quit on me after day one. Apparently taking selfies on open water while smoking isn't good for electronics. :scratch:
I've got one more good one from that trip I'll post in the portrait gallery.

Hey George, long time no hear! Good to hear from you and I was wondering what you were up to. Fair point about my first picture, though as you can appreciate, it was never intended to intimidate.
