Wondering if anyone has a source for a holder that will accommodate a contemporary pocket size box of stick matches. I get tired of having my lighter be empty when I reach for it and would like to carry a box of matches, but I hate it when the box gets destroyed in my pocket and the matches all fall out. There's a ton of 'em on ebay but they're all too small for today's standard size box. It needs to be 2" long by 1-1/2" wide by 1/2" deep. Needs to be open on each end for access and open on at least one side for striking. Sterling silver would be nice but I'd take a look at anything. Here's what I have in mind but they're all too small; I guess matches were smaller back then...

I had a boss years ago that smoked a pipe. He filled two Zippo's every evening and brought them both to work every day. He would strike the lighter and stand there with it flaming away while running off at the mouth about something. Wasted more fuel than he ever used. 😄

Would be a good piece for someone to make with a 3d printer.

I could make a box with pretty much any specifications on my 3d printer. I can incorporate metal parts like pins to make durable hinges or almost anything else you can imagine. The downside is that its going to be made of plastic.
You mentioned materials like silver and I agree that it would make for a much more elegant item. Thats something I like when I'm in the pipe ballpark.

Thanks. I saw one of these but not really what I'm looking for.
