Here's meh tax refund!

It is that time of year and I hope we all get something back from uncle Sam. I've yet to know how much I'll be getting, but I plan on paying tribute to tobacco laws by buying some tobacco and a pipe. I also plan on getting a few courses from thegreatcourses.com where I will be smoking said tobacco in said pipe :lol: :cheers:

It's not always obvious that we will spend our refund on our hobby but if you are inclined to divulge, what will you be doing with your tax refund?

Paying this year. Not much. Well, we are, it ate up all of what we normally get back. You would think that a frigging bank that issues IRA's would know the best way to handle an IRA for estate purposes. They don't.

Carlos, the key words are "frigging bank". They only want to maximize their commissions while frigging you. Find a good no load mutual fund, if you are able to move the money there are a lot of good ones out there. JMHO.

Blimey, I don't know if our Tax officers know how to even spell 'refund', I have never had a tax rebate not even when my late Brother and I used to have our own contracting business, but then he did all the book keeping, so that could explain that one. :shock:

As a self-employed business owner, I don't get refunds. I'm guessing 25% of my income for the year is being paid in various taxes (past years were better because as things are started up--more write-offs). That's punishment for not being a good little cog and getting a 9-to-5'er.

I also self-direct my IRA via Scottrade. Ain't no way someone's gonna pick a stinker in a mutual fund and drive it down 20%. I got a better nose for $$$ than those clowns anyway.

I owe a whole bunch to the Feds and getting back some crumbs from the state this year. I still bought myself an estate Dunhill pipe and some ODF to ease the pain (it should come in the mail today :cheers: ).

My Fed refund is going right to the City of Philadelphia to make up for wage tax that my employer "forgot" to withhold. Should be enough left over for a tin or two, but that remains to be seen.

It looks like I will not be getting anything. I almost had to pay NYC but my accountant was able to find a write off. I'm not upset though because I recently got hit with a BIG FAT BOMB of tobacco that will be keeping me busy for......................

BB, Speaking of that "BIG FAT BOMB", how about posting a few pics of the damage? & by that I mean everything. Inquiring minds want to know. Plus we are pretty much all repressed pyromaniacs that all want to gaze at the giant hole we left in your living room. :twisted:
