How About a Tobacco Bar?

I just opened a bunch of rectangle tins... out of 11 so far, 2 were bone dry. But I thought I'd take a quick picture. When I transfer from the tin, often I'll do an "in between" step before the mason jar. These jars have non-screw tops. Easy to open for sampling, in my experience, not a bad seal.

Thanks Slow Puffs.. The second row on the right has the kind of jars I have been collection for my up coming storage.. I like them.. I will use Mason jars also but these like you say are nice to get into.. Do you leave the tobacco out to get some moister for a day before storage from tin when dry ? Oh also what is this Forty Creek I keep seeing others refer too it looks like a Whiskey from what I can see.. Can that be ordered in the upper united states ? And last thing to ask I see you like G.L Pease Union Square ! I think I shall put that on my try out list.. Great looking storage thanks for sharing.. :cheers: :cheers:

I never tried Forty Creek until it was mentioned on this forum... So it obviously is available in the US. It really is quite a nice whisky. I've never really have had success in re-hydrating tobacco to my satisfaction, other than if I have two tins, I'll open both tins and jar them in the same jar. That works for me. But unfortunately, I do not have doubles of the ones I opened and are dry.

Those are neat. I picked up a couple small ones about a week ago at a thrift shop for 99 cents a piece. I'll get more when I find them.
I like how you put the labels from the package in them, that's how I did it, of course all I have is PA and CH right now.

Forty Creeks is good stuff. It was first introduced into my area just over a year ago, and for the first few months it was incredibly inexpensive for it's quality. Now the price has almost doubled!

Well Natch is it higher than Royal Crown ? Now that is a fun sipper I drink mine neat... Now to figure what blend would go good with it.. :lol!:

Booze up here has heavy taxes... The CR Reserve was a gift from my son. My wife looked at my display and now I'm confined to airplane bottles . It's like the time she counted my dunhills a number of years ago. Now I'm confined to cobs, but occasionally slip in a pipe or two.

Happy anniversary!! You picked a good weekend. Our 40th Anniversary is in December. She wants Sasquatch pipes with fossilized tiger bone stems... or was that a dream or was I into the whisky... ...

1) Put dry tobac in wire kitchen strainer.

2) Boil water in teakettle.

3) Hold tocac in steam for around five seconds or so.

4) Jar 12 hours for moisture to reach equalibrium (in strainer, bottom is initially soggy/top initially dry).

5) Evaluate.

6). Tweak as necessary for optimum outcome.
