My boss wants to be committed to his employees beyond just giving them work. He has made offers to pay for schooling, whether in the trades or otherwise, to any of the employees as one of his initiatives to help them reach their life goals. But when he asked me about mine, I told him that going to school won't really help me. What I would like to do is work towards becoming a full time pipe maker. So as of next week I am allowed to go home at lunch time on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and he is going to pay for two of those six hours. This will allow me two half days, and one full day to work on my pipes every week, while still having a sabbath on Sunday, and taking time to spend with wife and community throughout the week.
