The FDA has recalled this weight loss supplement due to liver issues. Guess it's back to destroying my liver with alcohol...

Damned thing was working too. I'm down a couple of pant sizes.

Man, you can't put that stuff in your body! Regardless of whether or not it's legal to sell, those chemical metabolic kickers are bad news. Every doctor I've ever talked to says the same thing, less calories taken in than you burn and you'll lose weight. Daily cardio, low carbs (stay away from refined gluten products like processed bread), lots of veggies and fish, and patience! Problem is, everyone wants a quick fix, they want to look at the scale 3 days after they start a diet. Make it a lifestyle change and not a diet, and don't look at the scale for 3 months. Your liver and heart will thank you.

I'll tell you what worked for me. It isn't quick, but it has lasted.
1) I cut out fried foods, which working on the road meant cutting out the obvious "fast food " choice of burger & fries. I did allow myself fries once a week.
2) I cut out sugar based drinks. As I am a cola-holic this was hard. I had to switch to non-sugar sweetened drinks, and had to get used to the taste, which I found easier to accept in iced-tea and Dr. Pepper, than in Coke or Pepsi. After you are used to the different sweet taste you come to accept the soft drinks, or I did. (Also included in the sugar based drinks are fruit juices and those with alcohol. The body digests alcohol by converting it to sugar.)
3) I had an apple 1/2 hour before every meal, so that I got full quicker and didn't go back for thirds. I also used apples for snacking. There are so many different types of apples I found I never really got bored, I just switched types.
4) I added a moderate amount of extra exercise. I walked. Outdoors if it was good weather, mall walked if it wasn't.
Those four things cut 40 pounds off in 18 months. It isn't quick, but it worked, and it has generally stayed off. Oh I don't find I like french fries any more, they seem very greasy and salty now.
The biggest hint I can give is be patient, and don't take one day of backsliding as failure. But be patient, you didn't put it on overnight, so you aren't going to take it off overnight... not and keep it off.
Five years off the"diet" stage and I have put back 10 pounds, so it will be time to move back into a stricter regime for a while.
Good luck! :pipe:

I appreciate the advice and all I ask for is support. Truth is, unless you are overweight, you do not understand the plight of a big person (which is why I try my best not to harass my overweight friends).

Yes, nothing comes quick; I get that.

Dieting and exercise is good; I get that too.

What most fail to understand is how the body holds on to it's habits, be it good or bad. I do use muscle confusion alot to benefit my body.

BTW, I won't touch a potato of any kind nor pizza. The only burger I'll eat is one I made myself which started as meat, not a patty.

I've only had eggs and beans today (have I got a story to tell you guys) but not by choice. I'm willing to put my diet and exercise against anyone on the board. Not all of us are blessed with a good metabolism.

Still, I"m not looking to be Hugh Jackman, only healthy. This junk was workign, that is why I'm bummed. When Ephedra was big, big people basically had a choice of being big or doing something about it and shaving 10-20 years off their lives. I will not speak ill of those that chose the latter.

I'm smart enough to know I cant take this stuff any more. It's sad that there is an underground market for it only a day after it is recalled. shucks, I'm rambling.....

So far, I've lost 65 pounds(medication side effects crashed my metabolism quickly and I didn't change anything about my eating habits) and have a bit more to go. I mostly just stopped all of the drive through eating really. I miss the little cheeseburgers, but it's for the best.
I was never a big fan of soda. I'll have a root beer every now and again, mind you, but not nearly as much as everyone I see around me who drink it as if it were water.

Also, playing with my 2 year old nephews is great exercise. I feel old saying it but, if you could bottle that energy, you'd have a fortune on your hands.

I tried to eat moderately stuff like pizza and burgers, but I find that Dr Atkins was right on some things. These foods are addicting. I can go without pizza for a year, but not if I try to have it once a week or once a month. Plus, I enjoy my whole wheat pastas much better.

You guys would have been proud at breakfast. The kitchen knows I do not eat potatos, so they usually give me a double helping of beans. But I was unable to finish most of them. It appears my stomach has already shrunk some which is a good thing.

I returned my hycroxycut and recieved 44 bucks back, roughly half the price of the bottle. I'm pretty happy with it, the refund I mean.

They don't sell it there, but one weight loss product that some were talking about is Nuphedrine, which contains hoodia and cocoa extract which is supposed to be good for weight loss. Thinking I'm going to listen to you guys and try to do it naturally.

Tex, as a fat guy who is a carb adict if ever there was one, the only effective weight loss I have found is Atkins. The first few day suck like a bad hangover, but after that if you stick to it you can drop serious weight. I dropped two pant sizes in a few months and I'm still going. It isn't as fast as some people say, but it works and becomes easier as you go on. The trick is you can't maintain the diet permenantly, so coming out of the "hard core" phase is really the dangerous part.

It's like quitting any addiction, then trying to control it instead of staying "cold turkey." The people that fail at Atkins style diets fail at the very begining or after when they go back to eating how they did when they gained all the weight.

I ate more damn chicken and eggs then I ever imagined, but I can buy pants in a regular store.

Doctor put me on Atkins when it first became popular. I lost some weight, but was immediately taken off of it due to a spike in my cholesterol.

I need to post a week of meals cause seems like you guys think I'm filling some kind of void with food. Biggest problem for me is actually booze. I like beer, I like it alot...

I'm actually on what I call a modified Atkins. Low carbs with a lot of protein, but not the extremes that the Atkins diet subjected me too. The protein is too help recover after workouts.

When I work out like I've been doing for the last two months, diet and nutrition is easy for me because the 10 hours a week I put in the gym seem like a waste if I hit the all you can eat buffet. I see my body like a machine right now and only give it what it needs (other than the occasional glass of whiskey and nicotine).

I'm actually doing fine, gone down several holes in my belt.

Really nutrition breaks down into two phases right now: my work out day and off day nutrition. More carbs are consumed on workout days.

Weight loss is actually an afterthought to me; my goal is to build more lean and fast-twitch muscle fiber.

BTW, Hdroxicut is already working on a new formula called Hoodia.
