I missed the first go-round in 1968, because I was in Vietnam. When that Coors TV ad appeared last year on TV, where the young woman magically removes her bra through a blouse sleeve and the announcer talks about the "remove your bra beer" I thought, "Could it be....again?" But I didn't see much of a change.
The last few weeks, with temps in the high 80s and 90s, I'm seeing more and more young women letting their "girls" out of their confines. Yesterday, my older daughter at I went to a 5 Guys hamburger shop. A group of 5 girls came in who looked to be late teens, early 20s. All were wearing some type of thin halter or kind of a gypsy look thin linen blouse. With the sun shining though the window, they could have been wearing nothing on top. All their lovely goods were on display and not one seemed to be self conscious. All these young women looked to be athletes; all looked very much in shape. I asked my daughter if my eyes were playing tricks on me. She said, no, that a lot of younger women are going natural.
Then today, I stopped at Aldi's to pick up supper food for my grandchildren, and some of the younger women shoppers were obviously sans bra. I don't mind the eye candy, but I'd certainly be upset if one of my daughters, at that age, was displaying her goods.
It's difficult not to look and not become transfixed.
