I like Lakeland flakes and I cannot lie. You other brothers (of briar) can’t deny.
Sorry about that. My GenXness got the better of me for a minute. Anyway, I really do love every Gawith Hoggarth flake I’ve tried. Some more than others, obviously.
But my reason for posting this is because it seems that BoB members occasionally come to terms with the fact that they’re overbought over the years, and the ol’ cellar is overflowing. Or maybe ones taste just changes.
Anyway, I’ve recently decided to try, if at all possible, to purchase all my tobacco from other smokers, whenever possible. Over the past couple of months, I’ve managed to make 3-4 great, mutually beneficial transactions this way.
A few weeks ago, a fellow BoBer gifted me multiple generous samples of some OUTSTANDING well-aged blends. I’d consider myself a lucky man to be able to get my hands on substantial quantities of any of them.
But for some strange reason, there was something about that decade-old curly cut deluxe that REALLY tickled my fancy. So much so, I proceeded to trade (on another forum) for a little less than two ounces of new stock CCD. Alas, it just wasn’t the same, so into the mason jar it went. I plan on trying it again around Christmas
So, if you’re still reading… thanks for hanging in there. Here’s a brief list of some of the things I’m interested in acquiring, in (ideally) 8-16 ounce increments.
GH Curly Cut Deluxe
GH Brown Flake Aromatic
GH Best Brown #2
McLelland bulk VaPers, including old Peretti London Flake (hey, a guy can dream, can’t he?)
Pet
To be honest, I like a lot of stuff. But, with a couple of exceptions, I’m not especially fond of C&D, GLP and Mac Baren. And I’m not a fan of latakia.
But if it’s well aged and contains some magical combo of Virginia, Burley, Kentucky and Perique (bonus points for plug, flake and broken flakes), chances are I’ll love it.
if you’ve read this far, you have the patience of Job. If you think I might want to discuss some of your surplus, you’re probably right. Let’s talk.
