An icon of the pipe, the BBC has announced that Sherlock Holmes actor Douglas Wilmer has died at the age of 96.

I read this in the paper this morning. However, like Monbla, I'm not familiar with this Holmes actor. As with any "Icon of the Pipe," may he RIP. FTRPLT

'Fraid he's not familiar nor do i recall seeing any of those films. Sad to hear of his death as he seems to have been well known over your way.

I remember watching some on his Sherlock shows in rerun here in Canada when I was a kid. Great stuff.
