First time trying a aged tobacco.
I was thoroughly impressed.
With the char light it starts off smoky with a nice hay / woodsy taste. Then it moved to a nice stable clean sweetness similar to a piece of toast done to the just right golden brown. Then I got what I thought was a perique but without the fruit skin tang you get with perique. I didn't read review before I started and figured I would give it to the end until I looked to see what was in it. From there it went to a very pleasant bread taste with the sweet smokiness I find similar to a oak log in the fire place. Ended on a sweeter spicy note with a bang.

To me it the smoky taste was similar to the perique american spirit tobacco but so different and oh so better. Reading the reviews I see it has burley which is where I picked up the similarities to american spirit perique cigarette tobacco.

Thanks Mark great sample.
You guys are the best

Thumbs up on the Silver Flake. Its definitely in my top 10. It is one of a few blends that I could smoke every day. ...
At least I think I could, I like variety. Anyway, the SF is awesome. The only negatives are the price and it is only available in 100g tins.

A fine tobacco, and I like it. Not a favorite for me though, as I find it a bit light bodied and astringent. I prefer something a bit heavier and darker.

Smoker99, my friend Boxerbuddy sent me some Solani Aged Burley Flake, which I hear is similar to Wessex's Burley Slice (but maybe better...?...hard to believe...). The I haven't tried it yet, but my yearn for aged, darker and heavier stuff myself thought it would bear mentioning to ya. 8)
