Good Day All;

Thanks for posting about the latest arrivals.  There are quite a few nice pieces in the group.

I would like everyone to understand that ALL the prices on the BB site are set by the owners!  I "may" suggest sometimes IF a pipe is priced far below current market value or way above.  BUT the final say is with the pipes owner.  I do take great offense to emails suggesting I am "price gouging".  Usually I have pretty thick skin, but there are some issues that do irk me( read - piss me right off ).

As far as the Nording pipe in question.  These were recently brought back into production, BUT after further research we found that these WERE also made in the 1980's.  The owner said 1970's, and with the new info we have adjusted the date.   I am sure you can find the same pipe for a lesser price.  I did a quick search and found them priced at $33.56 Euro or under $50.00 US.  Add shipping from Europe and you'll end up around $70.00.

I am also more than sure that IF you look around you'll find a number of pipes on our site that carry prices far less than some other dealers ask as well as some of the price E-Bay has commanded.  You'll also find pipes priced at "pie in the sky" prices, as the owners " assessment of the value" does not equal reality.

If you've dealt with me in the past you'll know that I am will always offer an honest opinion on any pipe in stock.  You might not like the answer and it may stop you from buying a pipe, but you'll get the bottom line and not some bs on how great a pipe is, IF it's not.

Again Thanks for posting the info about the update and Thanks to all for visiting the site and support.

Regards
Michael J. Glukler
Michael,
I did not know that your prices were set by someone else. I understand that the owner has the final say so. I apologize for any hurt I have caused you. You have a very nice site and I have seen some pipes that I am keeping an eye on. Again I apologize for my ignorance.

Best Wishes,
Tim Feazelle

Good Afternoon Tim

No worries. Apology accepted.

There is a difference between asking a dealer if there is a mistake on a listed item, whether it be price or description and "suggesting" one is price gouging.

Had we dealt / met in the past you would have known my policies and how I operate.

So, no worries.

All good.

Regards

Which one did you get MisterE?? I was drooling in the site earlier today... In the GBD section. Lol

I'd post a photo but I'm having trouble doing it on my iPad. I can't seem to copy the picture link on the server box.

It's a nice Liverpool with a Perspex stem and the brass GBD rondelle. Great vintage!

Is this it Mr. E? Beautiful briar indeed.

My Stanwell arrived today and it's darn near perfect, hardly smoked from what I can tell.

That's exactly the one!! Thanks so much for the assist!

Come to think of it, if someone could give me a tutorial for posting pictures with an iPad, I'd be grateful. I can't copy the info from the hosting site to post here. Frustrating!!

Stanwell or GBD ??

Stand well, GBD ??

MisterE bought the GBD, while I bought a Stanwell.

I posted the photo of MisterE's new GBD to help out.

As a follow up; The Stanwell I bought is really a great smoker, I've found it likes Peretti's Royal Blend especially. I kept her busy most of the weekend and put a pretty good dent in the 8 oz. I have on hand. I guess I'll need to think about ordering more if I want to keep this pipe happy.

Now you know why BS 759 was so popular "back in the day" !! RB is so close to that classic that I keep my yellow paint can in a desk drawer so that i will NOT smoke it all up at once !!

Very, very hard for me to lay off that GBD straight bulldog (would have to have it fitted with a black or amber stem, though...not a fan of white or clear stems).

If the Christmas bills weren't rolling in already, I'd be jumping on it.

yeah it really is pretty close to BS 759 based on my recollections of many years ago, closer than I was expecting. But there are differences too I think. All that aside I just think it's a great blend that I'm enjoying and plan to keep on hand from now on.
