Left handed pipe smokers

I was going to put this up on what are you smoking page.
I bought 3 or 4 ben wades ages ago without stems very cheap. They are all great,great smokers.
But one of them really pisses me off cause the top of bowl is slanted for a right handed person.
I have now put it with the collection as a "like to look at" pipe now.
Just wondering if any other leftys have had any issues. Just to be clear this is first world problems and if this is my biggest worry(which it is) you are laughing

I can't clain to have a preference for handedness when it comes to pipe smoking. I light with my right and manipulate the ember with my right but otherwise I shift frequently from right to left clenching and holding my pipe. It seems to matter more what I happen to be doing than anything else. Sometimes I'm most comfortable with a cross-chest grip on the pipe...clenching in my right teeth and supporting the pipe with my left hand. Your exemplar does appear to be carve for a right handed smoker, the slanted ridges on the stemmel would appear to comfortable for a right handed grip. Have you tried canting the stem to level the rim of the pipe, ie. smoking it crooked?

I am also left handed, though I do most things right handed beside writing and shooting. I haven't ran into this problem with pipes, because I tend to prefer traditional shapes, but I could absolutely see it being an issue with certain pipes! I do have a paneled Boswell that was clearly designed with a right-handed grip in mind, but the shape is neutral enough to not matter either way. I'll get a picture at some point.

You might try turning the stem a bit to the right, which would bring the bowl to a more convenient position for your left hand when it is in your mouth.

"When IT is in your mouth" refers to the stem, of course, not the bowl.

I’ve got a collection of big pipes with plateau tops and a couple are definitely lefties.
