Here is mine. I've had this guy for 13-14 years. It's seen a lot of rough handling in it's day but has never let me down.

What shape number is that Mikey? I really need one of these!
Alas, the stamping is light and darn near illegible on that side (The pipe is "ADE IN DENMARK")... there's a few marks that could be characters or maybe just stray sandblast. I'll hit it up with the magnifier when I have some natural light tomorrow.
That is either a 63 or 64 shape I believe...I think 63. They both look similar with one being a bit more robust and manly than the other. The 62 is also similar, but a bit smaller and more dainty than the other two in the trio.

Edit: Here is the 63 shape: http://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/stanwell/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=63796

and here is the 64: http://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/stanwell/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=55284

and here is the 62: http://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/stanwell/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=60460

The pipe in question is in the golden danish finish I think, which draws from almost the entire stanwell shape line if I remember correctly. I'm not sure, but I want to say that they don't actually stamp the golden danishes with shape numbers.

Thanks, Frost! It's good that you know it on sight, because even in clear daylight, there's no stamp I can see. (Turns out those were just sandblast divots.)

Golden Danish have shape numbers stamped on a smooth panel along with 'Stanwell. Made In Denmark'

Yeah, I've got the panel with the branding... it's either number-stamped too obscurely to see or somehow it just wasn't stamped. I'll get a pic when I find batteries if someone else wants to try finding it. Doesn't effect how it smokes, but I feel badly I can't pass along the requested info.

I always thought that was Stanwell's best shape. Just fit so right in the hand. I used to have one in the Vario finish.

just won this one on ebay last night. a registration era #14. looks like it might need a little love and attention. if it does ill have it sent out for some restoration, even with the restoration the pricetag will still be less than most basket pipes.

Nice pickup rbergum, I was considering bidding on that one but decided not to at the last minute. I ended up order one of the "Europe Only" Nanwells instead.

Now I have to suffer the anxiety and frustration of waiting for it to arrive in the mail :bounce: :

Love that classic saddle billiard, r--dollars to donuts it's a champion smoker.

I mailed the royalty check 5 minutes after I posted it. You should get it any day now! ;)

Oh yeah...here is my little stanwell collection, a 30, 191 and 63 all in Majestic finish:

I also have the aforementioned Nanwell (okay okay...DPG coined the term  ) on the way.

Just picked up this little doodad off of ebay for $30 including shipping:

I have been searching for a shape 239, 141, and especially the 113 in a golden danish or other blast finish in the used/estate market for a while now. I know I could just buy them new and not be out alot of coin, but saving that extra $20 each or so by finding them as estates sure would be nice...I know they hafta be out there somewhere.

Frost and nate, you guys have some awesome looking pipes! Damn those are things of beauty!!!!!!!!!!! :bounce: Maybe I will get into the artistic pipes later, but for now I Loovvveeeee the basic shapes and nice looking grains
