Matched Grain Pipe-Desirabilty

Morning BoBs, I have seen some vintage pipes that are marked matched or matching grain. In some cases, there is not even a maker name. Does this indicate or imply anything special beyond that the pipe was part of a set and the grain matched on them. Is this a sign of a higher quality pipe in any way? The latest one I saw was made in France and Algerian briar, but no discernible maker. Thanks Swede

I found a reference to Butz-Choquin made Custombilt pipe matching grain sets. I'm sure they are ok pipes, but I guess nothing special.

Using the faint stem logo, I actually narrowed this down to being a France made Weber. I don't have any experience with them, though.
