Matched set? Well, yeah sorta I reckon, at least that's the way I had planned it. Of course you know what they say about mice and men. Anyway, this is the mate to pipe #13, a Chubby Cavalier with hand cut Ivory Acrylic Saddle stem and end cap. There's a few tiny pits lingering around but, not too bad. It has a 7/8" chamber 1-1/4" deep and measures 6" long, 1-7/8" wide and bowl is 2" high. Anyway, here's a bunch of photos of it, there a little better then the last ones I took.

Gee whiz, Ron, are we perfect yet? Anyone who can handle the transitions on a friggin' cavalier, of all things, as well as you have on this one has to be approaching master status, don'tcha think? That is a very desirable pipe. Screw the pits, if any. And I don't even like cavaliers. Stupid shape. But that one isn't stupid, for some reason. And I don't like white bits. But I do on this one. Such is your power. Got wood? I do.  ;)

Dang Ron this one is just gorgeous! Excellent work indeed!

It'll be interesting to see what you can do when you get good !! Damn guy!!

I hardly know what to say because they look so great. Your skills and talent continue to amaze. :)

Well, I don't care what you think Ron, I think your really rather bloody good at this pipemaking thing.
Just a little more work and you'll be ready to make my 7 Day Set :lol!:

But seriously Ron, they are damn good!

Thank you so much Adam

Those pipes are ridiculously nice. Gorgeous finish on both, gorgeous photography too..

Ron, it seems you've succeeded at what surely must be one of the most challenging designs out there. Everything on this flows perfectly, and the finish is beguiling. Love that Birdseye, one could get lost looking at that.

Like Mr. Burley I'm not much on Cavaliers or ivory stems yet this one is just like Goldilocks porridge - just right!

Very impressive my friend. You can clearly turn your hand to anything. Well done sir!

Cheers,

RR

The real test of them being any good will be seen in the coming days.

So does this mean you're putting up your own site with your wares? Inquiring minds and all that.

I wish I could sir but, I think it's too early in my endeavor to do that AND, I just don't have the brains to tackle anything like that. So the answers no to that part but, I have ordered, whether my work warrants it or not, a stamp with my Logo (without the proper name for it) to stamp my pipes with.
It should be here in a little over a week God willing and the water don't rise. So, Yes I'm going to start selling them here, in the proper location when the stamp arrives.

All I can say - it's about time Ron. You deserve the right to display your creations for sale and have done for a while.

Full steam ahead brother. It's a whole new world opening up for you!

Thank you BD/RR, I don't know if I deserve anything but, I'm going to stick my neck out and hope it don't wind up swing from a tree. ;)

After thought: Ya know this is really strange for me, the feeling I get when I put a pipe up for sale.
It's not a good feeling, filled with stress and worry. I've been selling my wares for a long time, restored antique electric fans, restored antique and vintage small appliances, etc. etc. and never once had these feelings. Is it old age? Have I maybe lost confidence in myself? I don't know, I just know it ruins a day that would have been pretty good. Ya know, something that could be real good can turn real bad with just one rotten apple. Hope it doesn't last too long is all I gotta say.

Ron,
Not to take anything away from your repair/restoration effort they are VERY different than taking a piece of wood and some plastic/rubber and fashioning them into a shape YOU saw and fashioning a well crafted pipe !! These pieces of carved wood represent YOU so it's no wonder you have mixed feelings. The only feeling your work shows you should have is  PRIDE

Yeah, I see what you mean and your right. I'm creating something from scratch. But, the sense of pride........, just aint there yet. If I had MORE of that I probably wouldn't be so stressed out. Is there a place to get some, will they do payments?
